Glover Trade

The Glover or Skinner Trade never had high numbers of masters or members and
recruits decreased through the years. The first half of the 20th century saw one
family the Stewarts, producing the main strength of the Trade. By 1955 the roll
increased but only 2 gave their occupation as glovers - the other recruits were
manufacturers of silk or clothiers.
Records go back to 1576.
